1957 Harley Davidson XL Sportster This was the 99th Sportster ever built. It was featured in the “Art of the Motorcycle” exhibit held at the Guggenheim Museums in New York , Bilbao, Spain, and at the Venetian Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. It is now a part of the Barber Museum’s collection in Birmingham, Alabama. |

Restored in 1993 and featured in many books and magazines. This was the last of the 55 ci Flatheads. They were discontinued after this model. The bike now resides in the Barber Museum’s collection in Birmingham, Alabama. |

Easy Rider Captain America and Billy Bike Replicas Built for the Vintage Museum in 1994 & ’95. The Captain America was one of the main attractions at the Guggenheim Museum’s “Art of the Motorcycle” exhibits in New York, Spain and Las Vegas.

Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster
Done in one of four standard color schemes offered (Skyline Blue and Birch White). In 1958, the Sportster was originally offered as a dirt bike. Street accessories were sold as a dealer add-on. Purchased and restored in 1993 for the Vintage Museum. It now resides in a private collection in New Mexico. |

Harley Davidson advertised this new JDH engine as the “fastest model ever”. Riders could hit 85 – 100 mph. This particular motorcycle appeared in the 1991 Disney Film “The Rocketeer”. |
